Supported employment is an employment option that provides opportunities for individual with developmental disabilities to be employed in community while having the access to the supports necessary for them to be successful. These individuals represent a largely untapped pool of enthusiastic, hard-working, reliable employees. Supported Employment services provided by PRI offer a diverse array of employment options including:

  • Individuals hired directly by the business
  • Sub-contracts performed at your location
  • Sub-contracts performed at one of Partnership Resources' sites
  • Full-time, part-time, seasonal, temporary, or on-call opportunities

What is a job coach?
 

A job coach is a professional staff member who provides support and supervision to clients employed at a business. In most cases, a job coach is present each day for the clients' entire work shift. Job coaching service is provided at no cost to the employer.

The responsibilities of the job coach include:

  • Provide training for clients
  • Assist the clients to problem solve/handle difficult situations
  • Act as a liaison between the business, clients, and Partnership Resources
  • Facilitate the integration of the clients into the workplace and the building of relationships with their co-workers
  • Building of natural supports for the clients
  • Conducting client performance measurements
  • Assisting other employees to communicate and work effectively with clients
  • Ensuring employers' standards for quality
  • Working with the employer to ensure a safe work environment
