| When
PRI celebrated its 40th anniversary, it also launched one of its most
successful agency-based programs - PARTnerships.
PARTnerships provides income
opportunities to those individuals who are not able or have not
entered the work force to earn money while promoting personal growth,
self-expression, and a sense of pride in their work.
The artists of PRI's agency-based program, with
support and instruction, have the opportunity to explore various
mediums, discover their artistic talents, and create their art.
The completed work is then professionally matted and framed. The
art is displayed at coffee houses all over the Twin Cities area
through our Traveling Art Shows
or in one of the two galleries at PRI. When the artwork is sold,
the proceeds go to the artist and directly back into the arts program.
PRI's goal is to make the program self-sustaining. Through
grants from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the Wells Fargo
Foundation, PRI is well on the way to making this goal a reality. |
PRI's dream for the future is to open a coffee shop/art gallery, run
by clients of PRI, at which the art work is showcased and sold.
This endeavor would provide additional employment to people with
disabilities - allowing them to increase their connections with the
community. Please join us is supporting PARTnerships
by:
Contributing financially to the arts program
Volunteering to instruct or assist in art class
Providing in-kind donations of art materials
