Works by Jim Bjorneby

Jim Bjorneby is a self-taught artist who got his start drawing people he observed in the group home he lived in during his younger years.  Jim is an avid reader, devouring a biography or autobiography almost every week. His current body of work is a series of portraits inspired by the artists and historical figures he reads about- often using his book covers as his reference images. Jim believes that art is good for the mind and he makes art because “it helps me to know that there are others who share the same kind of problems I do.” Jim has exhibited work at Mudluk gallery and works out of the art studio at PRI- a day program serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He would like to thank his sister for the inspiration and support.
