March is Developmental Disability Awareness Month!

Each March, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (LINK) hosts a national March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness month campaign. This campaign increases awareness of the value individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities bring to all facets of community life and the barriers they continue to face to achieving full inclusion.

The 2023 theme for DD Awareness Month is “Beyond the Conversation.” Once the conversation takes place, what comes next? Simply put, IT IS TIME TO TAKE ACTION!

This March, PRI will highlight how individuals with IDD, supported by PRI, are using their voices and choices to take action to overcome barriers to have abundant choices in community life.

When you support PRI this month, you are taking action so individuals with IDD thrive in an inclusive community!

Take Action and
Build Community!

“There is a community within PRI. As clients return after the pandemic, there is a natural peer support happening – clients are reconnecting and supporting each other. All of this is happening independently every day.”

– Dylan H., Program Specialist

Take Action to Remove Barriers!

Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities face many barriers to true equity and inclusion in the community. PRI supports clients to discover their strengths, find their voice, and make choices about how they want to be part of the community.

Take Action to Raise Awareness!

Together with our partners, we raise awareness about the tremendous value individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities add to community life!

Take Action for Equity!

More often that not, individuals with disabilities are left out of the diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging conversation. PRI is taking action to change that by celebrating the voices, choices and identities of those we serve, and providing access to equitable opportunities in the community.

Take Action for Advocacy!

Join us and take action now to advocate for legislation that ensures disability service providers can offer competitive pay for Direct Services Professionals, essential to the support and inclusion of individuals with disabilities!
